🇹🇼 Pet Import to Taiwan
Taiwan treats itself as a rabies-controlled territory and applies strict entry rules: dogs and cats need an ISO microchip, rabies vaccination, and a rabies antibody titer test result of at least 0.5 IU/ml, with the test and subsequent waiting period typically needing to be satisfied well before arrival. Pets that complete the full pre-travel titer and waiting-period process are usually released quickly on arrival, while animals missing these steps can face quarantine of up to three weeks at an approved facility. The most common failure point is underestimating how far in advance the titer test and waiting period must be completed relative to the planned travel date.
