Pets from countries not covered by the simplified scheme, or missing any required step, can still face mandatory quarantine or refusal of entry. The most common failure points are underestimating the lead time for the titer test and waiting period, missing the advance import permit application, and confusion over which origin countries qualify for the simplified non-quarantine pathway versus which still require full quarantine.
