Barbados
BRBBarbados is a stable, English-speaking Caribbean nation with a strong rule of law and one of the region's highest standards of living. It became a republic in November 2021 while remaining in the Commonwealth. The Barbados Welcome Stamp, launched in July 2020, lets remote workers and their families live and work from the island for 12 months — renewable once — for a flat application fee of USD 2,000 per person or USD 3,000 per family. Applicants must earn at least USD 50,000 per year and hold health insurance valid in Barbados. Welcome Stamp holders are not subject to Barbadian income tax on foreign-sourced earnings, making it an attractive base for location-independent professionals. The Barbadian passport grants visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to approximately 158 destinations including the UK and EU Schengen area.
