Fundación Valle del Lili

Fundación Valle del Lili is a not-for-profit academic medical centre in Cali, Colombia, founded in 1982 and consistently recognised as one of the leading tertiary hospitals in South America. It is among a small number of Latin American hospitals to hold Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, which it has maintained since 2013, and also carries national certification from ICONTEC. The institution is particularly noted for its organ transplantation programme, which ranks among the most active on the continent and covers kidney, liver, heart, and bone marrow procedures. Its cardiovascular surgery and paediatric units are widely regarded across Colombia and neighbouring countries. A dedicated oncology centre handles complex haematological and solid-tumour cases, while a neurology and neurosurgery department supports both adult and paediatric patients. Valle del Lili operates an affiliated medical school and research institute, reinforcing its academic mission. International patients, primarily from Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, and the United States, are received through a dedicated unit offering coordination, translation, and post-discharge follow-up services. Procedure costs are substantially lower than comparable JCI-accredited hospitals in Mexico, Brazil, or Western Europe, making it a practical destination for medical travel within the Americas.
