Fundación Cardioinfantil

Fundación Cardioinfantil is a JCI-accredited tertiary hospital in Bogotá, Colombia, founded in 1973 and widely recognised as the country's leading centre for adult and paediatric cardiology. Its cardiac surgery programme spans congenital heart defect repair, open-heart surgery in newborns, coronary artery bypass grafting, and interventional procedures such as catheterisation and stenting, supported by dedicated intensive care units for both adult and paediatric cardiac patients. Beyond cardiology, the institution operates well-regarded oncology and haematology services, including bone marrow transplantation, as well as neurosciences and general surgical departments. The hospital received JCI accreditation in 2014, becoming one of a small number of Colombian institutions to meet international quality standards, and additionally holds certification from ICONTEC, the national technical standards body. Procedure costs are materially lower than equivalent care in North America or Western Europe, making Fundación Cardioinfantil an established referral destination for patients from across the Andean region and beyond.
