Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is a multispecialty hospital established in 2015 under a partnership with the Cleveland Clinic in the United States, bringing the Cleveland Clinic's clinical model and quality standards to the Gulf region. Located on Al Maryah Island, the hospital provides tertiary and quaternary care across six institutes covering heart and vascular disease, digestive disease, neurological and psychiatric disorders, oncology, respiratory and critical care, and eye disorders. It received Joint Commission International accreditation in its inaugural year and has maintained that status through subsequent review cycles. The hospital operates as part of Abu Dhabi's broader strategy to establish the emirate as a regional medical hub, reducing outbound medical travel for complex cases. Its cardiology and cardiac surgery programmes draw referrals from across the GCC, and the organ transplant programme is one of a small number operating in the Gulf. Physicians are recruited primarily from North America and are credentialed to Cleveland Clinic standards. The international patient services team coordinates care for patients from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other regional markets, as well as expatriates resident in the UAE. Direct billing is available with Daman National Health Insurance, AXA, Cigna, Allianz, Bupa, and MetLife. A 5 percent UAE VAT applies to medical services for private-pay patients. Telemedicine follow-up consultations are available for post-discharge care.
