🇭🇺 Pet Import to Hungary
Hungary applies EU Pet Travel Regulation (EU) No 576/2013. Pets entering from other EU states need an EU Pet Passport, ISO-compliant microchip implanted before vaccination, and a rabies vaccine at least 21 days old, with no quarantine required. Non-EU arrivals from unlisted countries must present a FAVN rabies antibody titer test of at least 0.5 IU/ml taken 30 days post-vaccination, followed by a 3-month wait, along with an official government-endorsed health certificate. The most common failure point is microchipping after the rabies shot, which invalidates the vaccination sequence and forces a restart of the waiting period.
