🇨🇦 Canada — Embassies & Consulates
Canada's global diplomatic presence is managed by Global Affairs Canada, which operates over 260 service points worldwide including embassies, high commissions, consulates, and consular agencies. Following Commonwealth conventions, Canada uses high commissions in fellow Commonwealth member states. Canadian consular services are available to all Canadian citizens and permanent residents traveling or living abroad, covering emergency passports, assistance during arrest or medical emergencies, registration of births abroad, and crisis support. The Registration of Canadians Abroad (ROCA) program, branded as Travel.gc.ca, allows Canadians to register their travel details so the government can reach them in emergencies. Canada also participates in consular sharing arrangements with partner countries, meaning Canadians may access assistance from Australian, UK, or other allied missions in locations where Canada has no local presence. Canada's network is particularly strong in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, reflecting its major trading relationships. Consular services are provided in both official languages, English and French. In some destinations, honorary consuls supplement the official network to extend reach into smaller cities and regions.
