Algeria

Algeria is Africa's largest country by area, situated in North Africa and bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north. Its economy is dominated by hydrocarbons, which account for the bulk of government revenues and export earnings. The northern coastal strip hosts the majority of the population in cities such as Algiers, Oran, and Constantine, where a Mediterranean climate prevails. Arabic and Tamazight are the official languages, with French widely used in business and government. Algeria maintains relatively low living costs and a state-subsidised healthcare system, though quality varies outside major urban centres. Foreign residency options are limited, and naturalisation requires seven years of lawful residence.
