🇷🇺 Pet Import to Russia
Russia, through its veterinary and phytosanitary service Rosselkhoznadzor, requires an ISO microchip, a current rabies vaccination, and a veterinary health certificate for incoming dogs and cats, generally with no quarantine for pets carried as accompanied baggage (limited to a small number per passenger). Certificates issued abroad must be properly translated and, depending on the route, registered electronically in Russia's veterinary tracking system. International sanctions and reduced direct flight options since 2022 have complicated routing and airline availability, making advance confirmation of both documentation and transport options essential.
